How to choose the hairstyle for your wedding day

Doing your makeup and hairstyle on the trial day is as much important as doing it on your wedding day.

It is very common when you think that you know exactly what you want to do with your makeup and hairstyle for your wedding day and then when the trial day arrives and you try it, you look into the mirror and change your opinion completely or want to make little changes.

This exact same situation can happen with your wedding dress: you dream for your whole life about a certain dress, you know exactly what you want, the color, the shape, everything! And then, comes the time to try it on, you go to the first store, you try it and you end up choosing another dress completely different because you realize that that type of dress didn’t suit your body shape or simply because it looks very different to what you had imagined.

That’s why I’m here today, to give you some advice and tips that are going to help you choose the best makeup and hairstyle according to your features.

-Tips to chose your hairstyle:

. The first step will be realizing the type of hairstyle that you would like to have: Loose hairstyle, half-up-half-down or an updo.

. If you’re still not sure about the type of hairstyle that you would like, I suggest that you start doing a research, try to find images of hairstyles that you like. The website that I recommend and that I think is going to give you the best results is Pinterest. On Pinterest you’re going to find thousands of hairstyle pictures, so you’re going to find the one you have always dreamed of, for sure.

. While you’re selecting the hairstyles that you like, make sure you follow this rules:

-Hair color: Find a picture of a hairstyle that was done on a hair with a similar color as your hair color. The same hairstyle done in a brunette is going to make you look a little bit different than if is done on a blond hair, because with blond hair everything is more visible, specially when the hairstyle has braids or curls.

-Length/Volume of the hair: It is important that you count on the length of your hair and choose a hairstyle that is possible to do with your hair length. Most hairstyles require a lot of hair and I guarantee you that the majority of the hairstyles that you’re going to find in those pictures were done with very long voluminous hair or were done with the help of hair extensions.

If your hair is too thin or too short but you want to have a hairstyle that requires a long voluminous hair, don’t worry! There is the option of applying your hair extensions to achieve that look. The easiest and most affordable way of getting that is with tic-tac hair extensions, that can be applied on the wedding day while the hairstyle is being done and you can take them off at night, they are reusable. You can keep them and every-time you want to use them again as it’s very easy to apply! If you choose the option of wearing hair extensions, make sure you already have them on your trial day.

. Last but not least, I’m going to share with you a chart that was created by the amazing hairstylist Stephanie Brinkerhoff (instagram: @hairandmakeupbysteph). The first time I came across with this chart I thought that it was a genius ideia and summarizes the most relevant ideas about a hairstyle that are usually difficult to describe.

And that’s it! I hope that I have helped you fell more comfortable and ready to start your hairstyle search! Regardless of the things that you’ve chosen, the most important thing is that you feel the happiest, the most confident and your true self on your wedding day!
